These two are quickly forced to determine who is friend and who is foe in their community. An international plane crash brings a grieving FBI agent and his team to one of the smallest counties in Illinois. Although this FBI agent does not believe this case is related to his grieving, he is forced to help the firefighters find the killer. Quickly there is strife between the firefighters and the FBI. Follow the twists and turns as these firefighters fight for their lives in a way they are not accustomed. All though the book is fiction it honors seven dead local firefighters, police officers and military men.
